Been MIA

I haven't posted in two weeks. Can't believe it. I have been a busy crafter. I have done about 7 8" x 8" layouts. Just misc. family photos from different occasions. So I haven't done any special tech. just getting them done. I have also been going thru all my old magazines and ripping out the stuff I like and then getting rid of the rest. This has been a little time consuming. Then last night I decided I wanted to change up a certain purse that I have. Love the compartments and the strap cause its adjustable but wasn't all the excited about this cross thing that was on the front of it. I covered it with some black felt and then hand stitched some felt flowers on the front. In the photo the felt and purse look like to different colors but I think that was only because of the flash. When you look at it they don't look like different shades. I put little mirrors in the centers of two of the flowers. I think I'm done but who knows might put stickles on it at some point. Ok so that's what I have been doing the last couple weeks. Plan on scrapping some more today before the busy holiday week comes on.

Happy Halloween

So here is the mini I worked on last weekend. Had such a good time with this. Hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween. I'm having a fun filed day with the little guy and my niece. Scary movies, pumpkin carving, making cupcakes and then trick or treating. Should be a good day.

Halloween Box Thing

So guess what won. Yep Halloween won over doing school layouts. I made this box thing out of chipboard cards I got in a kit and a wood skeleton that I got from Michael's. I bought this web paper last year and didn't use it but it seemed perfect for this box. I painted the skeleton and then stamped on to it. I put Diamond glaze over the top of that. Have any of you notice your Diamond Glaze turning yellow over time? I am wondering if I got a bad bottle. I traced around the web with a white gel pen and tied the chipboard pieces together with black ribbon. It was a pretty fun project. I also did a whole mini Halloween album. So I will post that later this week. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I scrapped and watch scary movies almost the whole time. Had a blast.

Every Thing Changes

So I didn't get to any scrapbooking this week. The only thing I got done was a couple journaling pages. Gotta go with what comes out at the time. Planning on scrapping as soon as I am done with this and a load of laundry (yuck). On these pages I smeared watercolors on the paper in circles all over then drew the spirals by hand. This was an easy page just time consuming. The white spirals are cardstock put over the top and some are popped off the page. I glued a tree I drew in the middle traced around it and then took the tree back up. So things are once again changing in my life. Gonna keep it to myself for awhile and see. Things are looking up though and that is just fine with me. The last few months I have learned a lot about what I really treasure in life. Sometimes we need reminding. So with that I will say I hope you all have a great weekend and that I have something to show you soon. I should be doing school pages but I am suddenly in the mood to do Halloween. So we shall see what wins out.

Goodbye My Love

Last one in the album. Thanks for hanging in there with me. Hopefully it was helpful to someone else other than me. Even if it just made you hold on to your love a little tighter or made you appreciate what you have. The journaling on this page is written to him and hopefully he will read it at some point, but if not then it was still just good to get it out. I liked the simplicity of this layout. Love the colors and it all just came together easily. I never seem to have the right color chipboard letters so once again I painted them. Then used glossy accents on them. Stamped and embossed the swirls again and used stickles on the green chipboard letters. It will be a good break to move on to a different subject. Just had to get all of these thoughts out while they were fresh. Hope you all are having a great weekend. Thanks again for putting up with my venting.

Forgiveness

Three posts in one week. Can't believe I have been that creative lately. So I thought that this would be the last page in the my life album, but I have one more. I did the journaling on it a couple days ago and decided that I want to get it all out and done while its on my mind and fresh. So I am going to complete that layout and then move on to school layouts. This one is about my struggle with forgiving. I'm working on it and hoping that time will make it easier. On this layout I Marion's Chipboard technique. One of my faves. The I used Kathryn's idea of using Versamark ink on the flowers and then embossed them with UTEE. I tried to find the video where she uses this technique, but couldn't. So just check out all of her videos there great. I stamped the circles along the bottom of the first page and filled it with diamond stickles. I also used the stickles on the tips of the flowers and the center of the large flower. With the circle bling on the second layout I just cut out where I wanted the heart to go so that they look more like one piece. Ok gotta head out to pick up the little guy.

Playlist

Another layout for the album about my life. I really hope I'm not boring the heck out of you guys or bringing you down with these pages. It is very therapeutic for me. I only have one more in mind so there should be a break soon. In fact I already have school layouts in the works. So this layout is just about the songs that have words that speak to me right now or have a special memory for me. I made a play list of these songs and sometimes I listen to them and just feel. Sad, hurt, wishful, sorry and on and on. I made a pocket on this page and burned the songs to a CD to include on it. Also included the songs on the play list. There are more songs that I could add. I hear them all the time. These were just the ones I knew for sure at the time I wanted on it. I put a ribbon through the CD and then put the buckle on it so that you could get it out easily but still be able to play it. The big brown flowers are a foam stamp with paint. I used puff paint to make them more dimensional. The chipboard letters were all different colors but I painted them brown used glitter on them and then used diamond glaze over the top. Obviously used more Stickles again. Loving being able to make everything glittery. Ok so that is two posts and its only Monday. I'm jamming this week. Hope you all have a good one.

Never

Sorry it took me so long to put up something pretty. We have had construction going on and it has been seriously messing with my creative time. I did however have this two page layout that I had already been working on. I just finished it up today. The chipboard letters were painted green and have stickles again. I stamped and embossed the swirls all over the pages. No fancy techniques. Just ribbon flowers and stamps. The journaling is written directly to my son on this layout. Sometimes all you can't do is try your hardest to make the best of a bad thing. Anyway hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I had a blast hanging out with the little guy. Took him to see Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs in 3D. Had to pay $23 for that matinee. Guess you have to pay for the glasses. So when I seen the glasses recyling bin I thought no way I'm keeping these babies.
